The trade in price was slightly above KBB and Edmunds values, but again I had to really work for it. They wouldn't go above $14,500 on our first go-round. Found a Mazda dealer who offered me $17,200 straight up, assuming no new car purchase, and then took it to the Ford dealer and they matched it.

But keep in mind that prices seem to be very region-based. In your area that might be a very good deal, while in others it would be easy to get.

Sound Ford in Renton, WA. But, believe me when I say I really had to work for this deal, over the course of several weeks. I wouldn't expect to just call them up and get a similar deal.

MLP:
I wanted to know if you agreed on the vehicle price before or after discussing trade-in value?
I don't understand how a dealership could give you such a good price without losing a bunch of money (unless they plan on recouping those dollars on trade-in).
I have a similar truck on order through Fugate in Enumclaw. MSR 64k+. I'm using A/Z pin and getting price of 57,000. Additional rebates 1000 (500 for using a/z pin, 500 current plat rebate). So, roughly 56k. My MSRP is 2k more than yours, so that would be like you paying 52k, which is still crazy low. Dealers get 2500 from ford when people use A/Z plan so that the dealer doesn't lose money....I just don't see how Sound could sell for that low, regardless of how hard you negotiated. Unless its in the trade in......
I'm only wondering if I want to renegotiate with Sound rather than Fugate.....
