Just found this
There are tuners out there that are well-known for their ability to grenade engines (SSI). Yet, some don't know and pick them anyways! This guy was also running E85 - with no fuel upgrades - so he was more than likely at the limit with his tune.
Good tuners keep the safety protocols in place and simply work with the factory calibration to increase fueling/timing/boost. Many even warranty their work (5Star as an example).
One of the bigger killers on the EcoBoost motors is too much torque, too soon. Tuners who know that tune the motor as such.

lol
I havent had a stock tuned vehicle since 2006 and havent had anything blow up yet. Theres huge gap between stock tune and blow up your engine tune....if it was an issue like phasers, oil leaks, sunroofs, transmissions, frozen door locks, and so forth we would be hearing about it. After at least 5 years on at least 4 different perfromance pages...ive seen 2 ecoboosts blow up, both 2.7's and both running meth if i remember.
you guys are a hoot
