Good luck!

I do not have a lot of experience with dealership service but generally the service advisor is who has the paperwork at their booth. You could get an ambitious operator that is able to leave their desk to make an attempt to track down the paperwork.

But no, I've never heard of anything similar to what you are experiencing in terms of them making you have them fix the problem.
The warranty clause that I'm aware of would indicate you cannot come after them for money without first giving them a chance to fix any problems but that doesn't mean the new owner isn't free to do whatever they want in terms of repair. Just don't expect a reimbursement is all (from the little bit of experience I have).

You should show up Monday morning and ask for the keys, unless they tell you it is on a rack being inspected at that moment. I don't understand why the Chrysler dealership is interested in looking into the problem in the first place.

Yeah I don’t know why they just won’t take it to there Ford location or allow me to do it. I did ask if I can come get the keys and they said I could, but I should let them at least look at it. Normally I might agree, but since they can’t tell me anything unless this one person is available, I’m thinking about just going to get it.

So the awful Monday update… The dealership never called me. I had to call them at 2pm my time. They stated that the truck is being taken to there Ford dealership which I am happy about…

But I am not happy with them telling me this grinding noise has a TSB out on it and just needs a reflash to the computer to fix! I call BS on that! No reflash is going to fix this grinding noise! Then they tell me they believe the noise I heard was from a few missing screws on a splash guard and a bent exhaust hanger! I honestly just hung up. Cause I was seconds away from losing my cool. I would bet my life on the fact that this noise was in no way, shape or form from a loose splash guard or a bend exhaust hanger! It’s just not possible!!!

I really hope someone with a little common sense gets it when it goes to Ford. Cause this is just utter stupidity. I guess they just assume most customers don’t know their *** from a hole in the ground and will just agree with whatever they say is wrong. I am not that person.

Th flash may help but I doubt it. I forget what it does but if it's what I'm thinking about, it adjusts the time the hubs remain locked upon startup.

It does sound like a rattle but your videos have proven otherwise based on the time/distance that is repeatable.
Can you call the dealership and explain the problem. Your experienced described to a Ford person may have a better understand of "customer complaint is a rattle sound" -potential cause by your diagnoses is heat shield.

I just don’t see how a reflash would help something that goes away when in 4a?? Even if it did there’s no way I didn’t damage that hub. I am going to try and upload this video, but it might not work cause it wouldn’t when I tried with the first post.

I’m just irritated. I’m not a rich guy. We work hard for what we have. I bought a 4 year old F-150 with only 25k miles for $47k. That might be cheap compared to what some of you spend on a new Platinum, but that’s a lot for me. I just want to be able to enjoy the truck since I’ve literally owned it for a week and it’s been in the shop for about the same amount of time! Now I’m gonna be hesitant to modify the truck cause obviously it has some issues. Only reason I picked this truck was to modify it. If I can’t do that I honestly would rather trade it in and go back to Ram.

Don't use the forum to host vids, upload it to youtube instead and just link it here.

Eww.

Did they stop grinding when you dropped down to 8th accelerating? or was it the effect of the camera mic and the exhaust note drowning it out?

It sounds faintly like the IWE sound. Definitely something audible through your microphone.
