IWE issues (vacuum or front hub?) on brand new 2017 F150

These trucks are ridiculous! Brand new everything on mine and they are still engaging on their own. Now when I come to a firm stop the truck groans, and it is NOT the brakes. If I switch to 4H and back, it stops groaning on a firm braking. I can't wait to get rid of this POS of mine, today the passenger seat broke, again! The damper at the top of the seat failed and is clunking on every bump again. I am really tempted to jump ship to RAM, but man, I don't trust them any more than Ford. Too bad GM can't design a nice looking interior.

Mine is fixed!
Took my 2015 F150 Lariat, at 53,000 miles, in last week for grinding feeling in brake pedal and noise under driver side floor! I was sold a full brake job and told that would fix the issue. Of course, I had told them that my brakes had just been checked by another Ford dealership but I guess they decided to ignore that. I had also told them that I had done a ton of research and found the IWE issue. They decided to ignore that too. After picking up my truck and literally going 50 feet to a stop sign out of the dealership, the noise happened. I was back at the shop the next day with the truck. Of course the service guy gave me a refund on the unnecessary brake job (woohoo for me) and he then decided to listen to what I was saying. At this time I had actually found Out about switching to 4 Wheel Dr. and the noise going away. So I was able to give him that extra detail. They switched out the IWEs on both sides and everything is perfect. All covered under warranty. I asked the foreman, who had to help me because I was so irritated, why is Ford not reengineering these IWEs and he said he really doesn’t understand it either. He said he thinks Ford just wants to have service fix the issue here and there with individual trucks and not have to deal with a whole redesign of the system. I have literally found trucks dating back to the early 2000s all the way to 2018 with the same problem. Doesn’t make any logical sense to me.

Yes!
Mine only did it on braking. Mine is fixed now with full IWE replacement. Hope it stays fixed.
Been noticing this same issue, or what I think is the same thing on my truck since around 2000 miles, at 6000 now...My truck is a 2017 4x4, 3.5L, 10 speed...
Mine only happens when applying the brakes while slowing to a stop...
I also heard it slightly even while in 4 wheel drive, although it was lower in level I still heard it...temps are in the 60s-70s here..Heard it n the Winter also..
I changed out the valve on the firewall drivers side, bought it from Amazon, but I'm still hearing this humming/ rubbing/grinding noise, mine is not a steady noise but a whoo/whoo/whoo while applying the brakes "only"..
Does anyone else notice this only while applying the brakes?
Haven't been to the dealer yet..

Fully covered
Just had both my IWEs replaced and no charge. I have 53,000 miles on a 2015 Lariat. I did get talked into the extended warranty at checkout when I purchased the truck, but I think the failed IWEs are under power train warranty.
Ford bought back my new 2016 after a transmission issue took over 3 months to correct. Now I have a 2017 F-150 purchased new that currently has 20k miles and a hub grinding noise for a few seconds and a hard shift from first gear and then seems to go away. The dealer sent me a photo of the disconnected IWE rubber vacuum hose behind the brake backing plate. Not sure how long it has been this way (maybe from factory) but actuators, etc. must be replaced. Here is the kicker. Ford service states the hose fell off as a result of "damage" and the $1k they want for repair is not covered under warranty. This vehicle has never been off-road or in an accident. It appears to me that a loose garbage bag could get snagged on this hose and pull it off as it does not have a bracket or mechanism to secure it in place. Based on this thread it is obviously a poorly designed system all around. I have owned several new vehicles some that had over 100k miles before spending this kind of money so I called Ford Customer Care and got a case number with the hope that Ford would make this right. Didn't happen. Would like to know if anyone else has been successful in getting Ford to correct this problem under warranty. They are telling me this is not a common issue.

SSM 47329 - 2013-2018 F-150, 2017-2018 Expedition/Navigator - Intermittent Grinding Noise From Integrated Wheel Ends (IWE) While Driving In Two Wheel Drive (2WD)
Some 2013-2018 F-150 and 2017-2018 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit an intermittent grinding noise coming from the right or left IWE area in 2WD mode. This may be caused by an intermittent leak in the check valve. Before completing any normal diagnosis suspect that the check valve is the root cause of the issue. An updated check valve (7A788) is now available that resolves this concern

Sorry I'm a little late to the game...I was reading about IWE the other day and remembered this in service manual:
The TCCM has a cold strategy which is used to warm up the front axle in cold temperatures to improve
driveline synchronization. When ambient temperature is below 32 F (0 C). IWEs engages after initial key
cycle and a driven gear is selected. The hubs stay engaged regardless of 4x4 mode change for proximately
2 miles (3km). Once distance traveled has been achieved IWEs disengages if vehicle is in 2H. Distance
traveled resets only if the temperature is below calibrated threshold and another key cycle has occurred or
customer shifted to park and back to a driven gear within the same key cycle.

But you still have to get the dealer to acknowledge there is a problem, that's the issue. No noise, no problem is most all dealers stance. I sent a copy of the that TSB to a local dealer and their response was "is it grinding right now, if not don't bring it in" even though its been there 4 times for it already.

2018 F150 Platinum - nothing but trouble. Latest - no A/C and this grinding noise. I placed a GoPro inside the wheel well, and this montage is made up of two in-town trips. Various speeds, nothing more than 45 MPH. Weather is warm - it's summer in Ohio. You can plainly hear the grinding noise. I have a service appt tomorrow and if they cannot get the grinding to happen I am referring them to my video on YouTube.
