I stumbled across this part # HL1Z-3C247-B but can't find much info on it. Appears to be replacement clutch rings for the actuator assembly. It is reference in TSB 20-2028 which appears to apply to 2013-2018 F-150. My 2017 doesn't appear to have any vacuum leaks but I have had intermittent grinding from front right wheel similar to those described in other threads even when I completely disconnect the vacuum lines, presumably leaving the clutches engaged full time. I haven't pulled everything apart to inspect visually both sides of the actuator/hub so maybe I am getting ahead of myself but wondering if anyone has any experience just changing out those clutch rings. $15-20 for the pair.
Good to know I suppose, but if these need replacement, then its because the vacuum diaphragm portion of the valve failed, causing wear to this ring. As stated above, its worth it just to replace the entire IWE. Its also worth going OE on the IWE's, aftermarket guys tend to fail more often.
Thank you for your input, yes that makes sense. Except that my vacuum testing doesn't show any leaks either in the hoses or at the hubs themselves. i believe my vacuum leak was at the check valve which I have replaced. Do these diaphragms tend to leak under motion/stress/curves which would not be easily detectable when the vehicle is parked/stationary? I am in Mexico and we don't have access to quality aftermarket parts and factory parts are simply much more expensive than in the US. So that's why I am probably going to try this replacement because the savings would be considerable, especially considering the premium I will be paying on the hubs. But I guess I understand why I can't find much info on this replacement part since most people just replace the whole mechanism.
