Default IPMA Camera Alignment Recommended When Changing Tire Sizes

I thought it was interesting that Ford recommends aligning the camera when changing tire sizes

I'm not saying you shouldn't do it but it isn't much more than Ford helping the dealers add to their pockets and making sure they are "off the hook" for any issues due to any changes you've made.

I have two sets of tires/rims that are different sizes I switch back and forth depending on if it's a road trip or and an off road trip. I originally installed hockey pucks (2") to level it out. Switched to ICON's all around. Have had my windshield replaced.

I have had no change or problems with the related items that use the camera.

All is well.

Surely you read the attachment that states this recommendation applies to vehicles with Lane Keeping. This significantly reduces the number of vehicles the recommendation applies to. I am going to assume vehicles with leveling kits or lift kits that have Lane Keeping would be affected as well.

I would consider this recommendation to be similar to vehicles with Adaptive Cruise Control and the recommendation to perform the vertical alignment to the Adaptive Cruise Control module after installing different size tires, leveling or lifting. Same would be true of vehicles with Active Park Assist and the recommendation to perform the Azimuth System Check.
