Default iPhone Bluetooth "stutter"

I have started experiencing what I will call a "stutter" when I am listening to podcasts or music from my iPhone via Bluetooth to my '18 Lariat. I suspect it started happening after I upgraded to iOS 11.3. As it is playing it suddenly stops, I see the button on the Sync screen changes to the Play button (as if it was paused). It is silent for several seconds, then it starts playing again - but usually several seconds further in the podcast or song. It sometimes takes 10 minutes or so before it happens the first time, but then it happens so frequently that I can't listen anymore. When connected with a USB cable, it doesn't happen at all. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have not updated mine since I got the truck in October, I have recently been getting crackling when on the phone or playing music through BT and also when it is plugged in. (iPhone 7 plus)
Really annoying.

My BT ipod would stutter as you say in my '10 Sport Trac with Sync, and it did it in my '18 F150. An older non BT ipod does not do it. The stutter would occur when I would be running errands, and stopping the engine and restarting it several times. Sounded awful, and would not use the ipod except on longer trips.

Yes and it appears to be an iOS issue as its happened to me both in my truck and my Mercedes as well as with apple headphones. All since updating my phone.

Yeah happens in both my 17 lariat and 16 Mustang GT, so I agree it’s an apple issue.
