It seems since my last update when answering a call, when I pick up, it doesn’t automatically go through the trucks speakers and I have to manually select that on the phone.

Also, when the radio is on, is there ever a way to have the text tone come through the speakers? I’ve never been able to figure that out. I’ve tried all the settings on the phone with no luck. It’s either no sound and shows I have a text on the phone, or if I select allow notifications for sync on the phone, it just shows a little mail symbol on the radio screen, nothing on the phone and still no tone. If I’m in “media” listing to music from the phone, it plays the text tone through the stereo speakers, but I’d love for that to also be the case if it’s in radio mode.

Are you connected via Bluetooth or a charging cable? My text tones play thru the speakers (and annoy the sh@t out of me by temporarily muting my music every time I get a text- super fun when caught in a group message) if I’m connected via cable, unless I set my iPhone to vibrate only.

 

Whether I’m connected via cable or just Bluetooth there’s no sound. If I have music playing through the speakers via my phone, there is sound, but not when I have the radio on. If the phone rings, it plays it through the speakers, but never text tones. The only thing the USB port seems to do is charge the phone.

With your truck being a Lariat, you have a different version of sync than my truck but I appreciate the reply.

I connect my iPhone with Bluetooth, and haven’t noticed the text tone come through (most of the time my phone is on vibrate though, so I’ll have to specifically try when it’s not). I mostly notice when my music is playing and it reduces the volume for a moment as my phone buzzes.

 

I’ve tried searching all over google and YouTube and I cannot seem to find a solution to this issue. All that I find is to turn on notifications under sync in my phone, but all that does it stop the text from showing up on my phone and just adds a little mail symbol on the trucks screen which I don’t even notice. Still no tone.

it would be nice on long drives to be alerted when a text comes through so I can speak using Siri to have them read and respond. The latter both work, I just get no notifications.
