Default IPC help

So I have a 16 f150 XL and I have been wanting to swap the IPC from the 4 inch to the 8 inch digital so today I got one but it’s from an expedition. So the first thing I did was go on forscan and change he stuff for my truck but it won’t let me, any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. We need more info? What are you trying to change? What are the error messages, if any, that popup? What year vehicle did the cluster come from?

IPC came out of a 2019 I put it in my 2016 Fitz well Hooks right up only problem with it is the features that the 2019 have my 2016 does not have and I cannot disable them in forscan because it says service procedure interrupted along with that the tachometer also does not work will attach photos

My first guess is that the clusters are from different model years (2016 is probably for a 6 speed transmission and 2019 is probably a 10 speed transmission) and they have different micro-code on them. However, I'd suggest contacting Clusters By Livnitup who is a vendor on this site. Livnitup is the Cluster expert! Clusters by Livnitup - Ford F150 Instrument Cluster Sales & Programming (Livnitup can also set the mileage, engine and idle hours, as well as program the cluster for your VIN)

Check Livnitup's reviews in this thread.....Gauge cluster swap - Page 231 - Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans
Good luck on the upgrade, and you'll enjoy it once completed.

First off: you shouldn't replace a cluster with another year/model cluster just because it fits; there's compatibility issues to contend with so the only 100% compatibile cluster to use in your case would've been a 2016 Lariat+ cluster instead of a 2019 from an Expedition.

When you connect to your truck in FORScan click no when it asks you to load any saved VIN profile because this will make FORScan discover the new cluster part # and then you can save this as your new profile. My guess is you didn't do this and that's why FORScan wouldn't let you program the asbuilt information.

Your truck has the tow haul/sport switch but I believe that Expedition cluster may be set for Drive Modes so your tow haul/sport won't work if that's the case. You may also have display issues on the vertical gear tree where it jumps between gears on the display because of the compatibility. So after you get the asbuilt values programmed is where you'll see these incompatibilities. The Expedition cluster is 99% Super Duty cluster and uses a completely different eeprom chip and firmware than an F150 uses.
