Default Intermittent Windshield Washer Pump

Electric Blue 2017 Scab 145 4x4
2.7EB w 3.55 Electronic Locker
XL101A, XL Sport, Tow Package

Issue started Sat 1/13/18. Reservoir is full. Sometimes it works, sometimes it just trickles, and sometimes nothing. Had hood open, had wife inside truck pushing the little button. I was over near the pump. The noise of the running pump changes pitch. Its not a labored noise, more of an inconsistent-varied RPM sort of thing, and sometimes no noise at all. (yes I realize the pump times-out after about 5 sec or so-it's not that)

When the problem presented itself, I was on the interstate during a mixed bag winter storm. I had to get close enough behind a semi to get road spray my windshield to see. I thought to myself, "way to run out of fluid dummy", only to find that wasn't the case.

Using only non-diluted Rain X brand 2 in 1. Had no issues a few weeks back when it was -8F in the morning. Current temps are cold, but are certainly north of zero.

Anybody else have a similar issue?

I did a search and found a few things regarding a wye connector-check valve thingy but I think my truck is post fix. Not too much regarding an intermittent issue......

Can you disconnect the rubber hose at the pump and then engage pump to see if fluid is being moved by the pump? Then you would know its a clog in the rubber hose down the line, possibly.

The fact that on more than one occasion the pump failed to run when the button was depressed leads me believe the problem is electro-mechanical in nature. Besides, truck is 6 months old. This is a warranty claim. I was looking to see if there is a trend.

Truck build date is Feb 17

My 17 does it also. Worked fine today at 12:30 and 19 degrees outside, an hour later nothing at all, happened last week as well when we were in the sub zeros.

Good to know I'm not the only one, sorry to hear you got troubles.

Mine quickly went from that phase to nothing at all, all the time. All yesterday and this morning nothing, and I can no longer hear the pump running.

Sort of feel bad for the tech guy, 3-6 inches of snow today and I'm supposed to bring it in tomorrow, and the truck is gonna be a mucky mess.
