Default Interior dash panel removal

How does one remove the dashboard "kick panel" below the steering wheel in a '16 XL?
Thank You

If it’s the panel below the column the width of the dash by the drivers knees just give it a yank, it’s hinged at the bottom as I recall

A gentle pry with a non marring tool may be more appropriate, but it’s not required.

I was hoping that by removing the kick panel, I would gain access to the "trailer backup assist" button. But, I was mistaken. So the new question, how do I gain access to the "trailer backup assist" button? I want to remove it and place a boost gauge in its place.
Thank You

Not sure the location, I only have an XLT but the trailer brake controller you tube videos get you into the center stack and th wares near the 4x4 selector and trailer brake.
Fairly easy but get the tools to prevent marring
