Thumbs up Interior Alarms?

Just an FYI for all.

Last night my truck started the intruder alarms, about 10,30 at night. Got out of bed and looked around the property ( I am pretty well secluded). Found nothing weird.

Happened again 1/2 hour later, and another 15 minutes later! What the heck was going on??

My son came over from next door, hearing and seeing the racket. He couldnt find any cause. But then, after opening the door, he found a moth inside the cab. I am sure he came in from the back window that was opened just a bit.

So he gets the moth out, and no more alerts!

Moral of the story: interior sensors work well - and keep windows closed all the way!

You would not be the first person to have been mothed awake in the middle of the night.

I hate that we can't turn that alarm off as a default. My dogs always travel with me and I have to disable it every time I get out of the truck.

My dogs used to set off the alarms, too. I covered the 2 sensors in the overhead console with tape - worked well (dogs stayed in back seat).

This issue has been posted several times. I've not had it happen, but knowing that moths can trigger the motion sensors, I go to "perimeter only" when I'm camping or parked out in the country somewhere where I'm going in and out after dark.

Agree. It would be nice to not have to choose a mode every time you shut off the truck, if your needs are consistent. Ideally, the alarm would allow you to choose your default, or allow going perimeter-only for a period of time before changing back to all sensors.
