Default Intake tube inserts

Do these things actually serve a purpose, or just restrict airflow to the turbos? If the latter, are they safe to remove?

They make the turbo sound quieter and that's all they are designed for. I removed mine a while back with no issues.

Safe to remove I pulled mine when I threw in a new filter. Theyre pretty much baffles that quiet down the turbos and cause a vortex like airflow before hitting the turbo, if you look to hear the turbos spool pull em, there is one in each of the 2 intake tubes. I drove today about 275 miles or so and my avg mpg is 23.4 doing 75 no issues at all

I'm new too, first F150 and EB. Have put almost 1K miles on my 2017.

Thanks for the replies. I can faintly hear the turbos and was thinking ho I could hear them better. There's something about the spool up
