Default Intake Vacuum Line Broken Help

Short: What is this sensor/valve, and how to repair it.

Long: After going in and cleaning my throttle body to try to repair an almost rough idle I found this broken piece on the intake. My truck has always had not the smoothest idle since new, I wouldn’t call it rough, but a light shutter, or occasional break in smooth. It has been slightly worse lately, or at least I’m fixated on it more. Truck does not have an active check engine light, and I’ve never had one for misfire. Only light I get is an occasional P0430, that stays away for 3-4 weeks after I clear it. I have no clue how long it’s been broken, I put a cold air intake on it 2 or 3 years ago, took it off around 6 months ago, could have been damaged during that. What is this piece and what is the best way to fix/replace? Google keeps pointing to Map/Maf, but I know it’s not those. I feel like it could be an AIT sensor, but can’t confirm. I’m a decent shade tree mechanic, but far from a professional.

Have you bothered to follow the hose to see where it goes? A bit of JB Weld might fix it or at least worth a try. It's not a MAP (turbo engine) sensor or there would be wires attached.

I traced it back, and it ties back in to another point on the intake, then back to a module on top of the engine towards the back

I was able to do a little more research, seems like the barb is molded on to the pipe and the whole pipe will need to be replaced, pretty sure the part is the Intercooler outlet pipe cold side

Correct. Connection is used for compressed air supply to ejector for purge under boost conditions. See diagram below. AND yes the whole pipe (from intercooler to throttle body) will have to be replaced. (unfortunately)

Update: I was able to JB Weld and zip tie it back and seems to be holding. OEM replacement tube is more expensive than aftermarket performance aluminum replacement, any experience with CVF products?

My MPG has improved but still has that light idle shutter. Still need to hunt that issue.

.
Take a look at reply # 5 diagram of the >Turbo< intake system. A 5L does not have this arrangement.
That connection is part of a Check Valve direction control for testing to prevent the Turbos from pressurizing the fuel tank under boost. You do not want that to happen.
It's important to have all parts of this system operational and closed for that reason.
Good luck.
