My transmission position display on my 2017 f 150 suddenly disappeared! I am wondering where the signal for that display originates ?

 

Hit the + button on the shifter to toggle gear display on/off.

I believe that I may have not stated exactly what I am experiencing The position I am referring to is the 6 positions vertically showing the exact position of the transmission ie dr dr1 etc

Exactly what everyone already said. Press the + button on the shift lever and they’ll reappear.

 

+1, If you press the + on the shift lever they will come ..

 

Maybe OP needs some visual aids....

I tried that repeatedly with no change Then finally it worked I am getting messages stating trailer not connected with no trailer attached Also message stating turn signal problem but no problem found.
Could any of this be related or just coincidence?

Go around and double check all your lights are working correctly. Check dual filament bulbs and also the third brake light on the top of the back of the cab. Bulb outages cause weird issues and messages to pop up on these trucks. Also how is your battery's health? Any battery issues that you have noticed lately?
