Default Installing Aftermarket Boxlink

I bought a set of Boxlink plates. According to the packaging it is an OEM Ford product and the Amazon seller had several high reviews on this product. My problem is that i cannot get the hex screws to go into the holes in the bed. It is as though the screws are slightly too large. I emailed the seller who advised that to his knowledge this is an OEM Ford product and that these are the OEM Screws.

I am curious if, because my truck did not come from the factory with Boxlink, if there is something additional i need to install them. or has anybody else had this problem?
Thanks

Your holes aren't threaded. The screws that came with should cut their own threads. It's gonna take a little elbow grease.

"Self Threading Screws"... Lock and load... much easier if you are using an air or electric tool.

I used an impact driver and they easily cut the threads. If you don't have an impact driver I recommend you buy one, absolutely awesome tool to have.

I used a torx bit on my ratchet and got them all in, as stated they cut their own threads so be sure thier straight. While transferring them from my 15 to my 18 I snapped the head off 1 bolt.

We are in phase. My Friday night activity..................
Got 'em going with a cordless driver, but applied final torque by hand so as to not overtorque and strip the thread in the soft aluminum (T-30 Torx).
Did the one oblong hole last:

Voila, poor man's Boxlink:

Rock on.

What are those rings you got? I think I like them better than the Ford boxlinks. Just installed mine on Tuesday.
