That looks great. Like the Raptor wheels.

I installed the Bilstein 5100's at the max height setting (2.1") on the front and 5160s on the rear. The ride is incredible compared to my horrible stock FX4 shocks. It's like a completely different truck.

What size tire did you go with? I have not upgraded tires yet and want the largest tire that will fit on my stock wheels with out bending crash bars. I'm thinking 275/65/R20 BFG AT KO2s (34.1" diameter).

Bring the springs to a nearby shop, pay them an hour to swap the shocks and then go back home and pop it in yourself. That's what I plan to do.

Driver8 thanks for all the info. On a side note is your handle in reference to the old REM song?

It is indeed! Good catch. Most folks think I'm an old-school Dale Jr. fan.

As soon as I saw your handle that's what I thought of and the song instantly popped in my head

I drive a 2015 F150 FX4. I have heard many mixed reviews online that the bilsteins at the max setting is pretty rough/ stiff. I am currently running a procomp 2.5" leveling kit (preload spacer) and the ride is really harsh.

Would the readylift 2.25" leveling spacer work with the Bilstein adjustable front struts set at 0"? So I get the ride height of 2.25" but get the benefits of the bilsteins (not preloaded).

I don't think I can go with the 1.75" setting since I'm running 285/65R20 KO2s on my stock rims so if may not clear.

Which would be the way to go? Thanks in advance.

Husky, in my experience, the Bilsteins are neither rough nor stiff at the 2.1” setting. If nothing else, (1) they are not as nearly harsh as my friend’s truck which has a 2” block, and (2) the ride is far better than it was with the OEM shocks.

Your proposed solution may improve the overall ride somewhat, but it will be limited; you are still dealing with the issue that made your ride stiff in the first place: the spacers. At 2.5” of level, your suspension is compromised. Why not just go with the 5100 setup and remove the 2.5” spacers? Your ride would improve, you should have plenty of clearance, and you’re only giving up 0.4” of overall lift.

Just my $0.02....good luck either way you go!

I think I will. Going to get the rear shocks too. I heard that at max setting most people achieve more than 2.1" of front lift?

Congrats to OP on install . Thinking of getting them for my truck as well.
How do they compare stiffness wise to the factory shocks ?

another Question - I currently have FX4 on 2016 Lariat. Would adding front and rear bring the truck level ? Also, I park in a multi story garage and there is about 5 inch clearance . I am hoping that adding these does not increase truck height but rather just lifts the front at 2.1" setting so that it is level with rear and roof does not gain any additional height.
