"Insert Nav SD Card" message
Mclaugh1, Did you ever find a solution to this "Navigation SD Card Fault" error? I noticed someone on this thread mentioned a wiring issue. Was it the same for you? I just got a 2015 Ford Escape a couple months ago and I just started getting the same error. The error message looks the same as the pic you posted.

If you know anyone with a Ford that has an SD card, you could try theirs. It's just a matter of popping out the old one and installing the new one (with the ignition off) then turning it on to see if it works.
You can make a backup of your SD card so you don't have to worry if one fails. Here is how:
If you are interested in copying your Nav Card to make a backup for yourself, here are some instructions. It worked for me using my computer, a Samsung phone, and a micro SD card.
1.) Copy all contents of the original SD Nav card except the SdCard.key file to your computer. Check how much memory these files take up
2.) Buy a 64GB µSDCard (although a 32GB will likely do as identified in #1 above). Make sure you have an Android >= 5.0 device (Android phone)which can read this card size.
3.) Downloaded and install FordActivator.apk on your Android phone and put µSD-Card into the Android phone
4.) Run FordActivator on the Android Phone (>= Android 5.0). This creates a unique SdCard.key file for the µSD card. This did NOT work on my Moto Z Play Android phone. It worked on my kid's Samsung.
5.) Remove the µSD card from your phone and insert it into your computer.
6.) Delete everything on the µSD card except the SdCard.key file you just created.
7.) Copy over all the files from your original NAV Card from your computer (Step 1) to your new µSD card. DO NOT OVERWRITE the "SdCard.key" file on the µSD card that you created in step 4.
8.) Test your backup card in your truck.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. The Nav SD card would just stop reading and the same error message would happen. So after extensive testing it came down to a bad iPhone cable. The second I removed the cable and replaced it with a new cable the error disappeared. I would plug in a new cable, no issues. I would plug in the old cable and the error would happen with in 15 mi or so. Tested it like a dozen times with the same results.
Good luck
Good luck
My wife's 2015 Focus did the same thing with the original A6 SD card (of course it didn't start doing it until we started on a trip from Maine to Georgia). We stopped at a Ford dealer who let us try a new SD card (A7) and that fixed it. We ended up buying the card then went to the dealer we bought the car from when we got home and they warrantied the old card. That was over a year ago and it hasn't bothered since.

yes by iPhone cable I do mean the cable which plugs into the USB port in the console. If you think about it, the head unit most likely is attached to the usb/SS card reader using the same data bus since both items are doing just that, moving data from usb based device or SD card to the unit
