I'm Impressed
First, I generally don't tow things with my truck (2017 KR FX4, 3.5L Ecoboost, 3.31 gears). I didn't buy it for towing. I have only towed a small 8' utility trailer that, fully loaded, could only weight about 1,500-2,000 pounds. When towing that, I never noticed it, at all.
Today, I had to hook up to a 12' enclosed trailer. It was loaded with staging materials for a show we're hosting at my church. I'm not sure about the weight, but I could certainly feel it behind the truck. It was probably close to 3,000-4,000 pounds, maybe more.
Now, the part that impressed me. I know some of you that tow regularly have stated that the Ecoboost will pull a loaded trailer effortlessly.
Wow, when I went to merge onto a freeway I had ZERO difficulty matching speeds. I could feel the weight of the trailer through the suspension, but the engine/drive train didn't seem to notice, at all! My truck doesn't have Max Tow, but for my needs I don't need it. It is certainly nice to back to a trailer like that, if I ever need to, and not worry about how it will handle the load.
