Default Idle hours

I've had my 2016 KR not quite 3 weeks. With 953 miles and 39 Engine Hours it shows 9 engine Idle Hours. Not a chance I have sat, not in gear idling for 9 hours in 3 weeks. Does the engine have to be running to add to this total? [ And yes I know it says idle hours ]. And is the 9 hours part of or in addition to the 39 Engine Hours?

It could've been idling for a while between the time it was loaded for transport from the factory, while it was unloaded at the dealer, during the dealer in-take inspection, and anytime someone else was looking at the vehicle. Even though you just got the truck and the miles are low, there are tons of reasons for the idle hours being what they are.

I have been meaning to check if idle hours are counting engine idling (which I do very little of) or key on truck not moving hours, like sitting in the truck playing with the display settings or listening to the radio with engine off (which I do a lot of).
When I had my oil changed the other day the tech noted the high idle hours number.

Mine has close the the same mileage, and the same(9) idle hours.

I think it might be the initial start/run process that adds to it as well.

Not sure if it is engine idling, truck not in gear, or anytime the engine drops to idle(stop lights, etc).

I read the title and thought it was referring to the time spent here
