ICON info
I'm probably the ONLY guy here that cares about this, but here goes!
Yesterday I found out something interesting which solved my coil fitment problem. I want to keep the stock ride height because the truck JUST squeaks into my garage. I don't plan on adding bigger tires either. I also, LIKE the stock rake.
That said, I couldn't find any units which were GREAT and maintained the stock height ... until yesterday.
ICON makes three front coil "configurations" for our F150s. I say configurations, because they are all the SAME tube/spring combo. Then they add the external reservoirs, then the adjusters. The base configuration has a shorter top mount which allows for the height to stay stock. The other two configs use a different top mount which allows clearance for the hose. This extra clearance precludes the lowering them to stock height.
I'm psyched! I get to have a kick-butt suspension without tearing my garage apart LOL! I'm sure these units will suit my driving needs just fine. While I do the logging roads, I'm not killing it and it's only a couple hundred miles a year.
