Default How's this look?

I was able to go check out my new truck today even though I'm not picking it up until tomorrow. I wanted to make sure to check out a number of issues I've seen on this forum, however just about everything looked good.

I wanted to get opinions on my rear diff. There is a small amount of rust in one image, however it seems pretty good to me compared to what many people have received. I plan to accept it as is at the moment, but wanted some other opinions.

Looks fine.

Ye do NOT want this: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/got-r...urself-296666/

Touch it up yerself. Worry less, lol. Focus on checking that all the gizmos work and it's not raining inside the truck.

good luck

I am now thoroughly convinced 75% of the threads here in 2015+ are about one of two things. Leveling kits or differential rust.

Rustoleum bed liner spray, or one of the better rubberized spray undercoatings, in a pinch.

OR, if ye wanted to do 'er right - POR-15.

Prep is everything. As is masking the work area, lol.

Here - check out VTX's excellent work: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/new-sus...r-15-a-265279/

Best o' luck

Oh nice. VTX's job looks very well done. I don't know if I'd want to go through all that, but maybe a year or two down the road.

What VTX did looks great. It just shouldn't have to be done to a brand new truck IMO.

Can't argue with that. However, this surface rust needs to be put into perspective, IMO, relative all of the other potential - and far more noticeable / serious - issues that could arise.

Cheers

I hope rust on the differential is the only problem mine has when it arrives.

3M Undercoating Spray in a can.
