Default How thick of adapters

I've called myself looking all over and cannot find where this is already posted. I'm sure someone will point it out as soon as I post this, but please do. I've been trying to determine whether or not 1.5 inch thick wheel spacers (adapters) will fit with the stock length studs. I am not going to cut, shave or otherwise alter my wheel studs in any way. On the same note, I don't want to go with the 2 inch adapters unless I have to in order to have room for the current wheel stud. Any help, point in the correct direction etc. will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Depending on what rims you have, there may be cutout pockets inside the rim to allow for the studs to protrude past the spacer.

The 20" sports rims on my truck have pockets. With 1.5" spacers there's no stud sticking out past the spacer.

My brother's 20" king ranch rims have the pockets as well and needed them with 1.25" spacers.

Platinum rims also have the pockets https://www.f150forum.com/f118/my-20...2/#post3908824

You'll be fine all they way down to 1" for stud clearance. 20" pvd chrome lariats also have pockets.

I test fitted 1" spacers and they didn't fit with my stock 20" wheels. I would have had to cut the studs.

thanks for all of the replies and the pics! i have the machined and black 18's. However I am looking at putting on a different wheel than stock so I will look at them tonight and see if they have the pockets. That is something I honestly did not know about. I'm sure with my luck, the wheels I'm wanting to put on will not have them hah! With that being said, if I go with the 1.5 inch spacers it should cover the entire stud up no matter if the wheels have the pockets or not correct? Thanks again!
