How to tell if a f150 has the max towing package?
Hey everyone I am currently looking to buy a 2016-2018 f150 with the 3.5. I am wondering how to tell with out a window sticker if the truck has a max tow package? Looking at loaded XLTs and lariats

Quick/dirty way is to look at the sticker on the OEM hitch - max tow will have 13,XXX lbs under weight distribution. Non max will be 11,XXX lbs
There are other ways but that's pretty easy and doesn't require much leg work.

You also can look at the chain loops on the oem hitch. MaxTow (angled) vs Non-maxtow, (straight) have different angles.

Only if it is combined with an HDPP

On my 2020 XLT, my chain loops are angled slightly; perhaps to make room for the spare?. They’re not straight. I have Trailer Tow, with the 11,600 lb tow limit [WD] hitch receiver (see pic of the hitch sticker). First time I hooked up chains I thought the angle was interesting.

Not the same angle discussed, revisit the linked thread. If looking at your hitch, your tabs point towards 9 and 3. My MaxTow tabs point more at 8 and 4. You are discussing a tilt, rather than angle.

Doesn’t max tow have the hitch light?
