How to replace stock Sony sub?
I just got my 40CWRT81 in the mail. It is a 600W 8" Dual 1-Ohm sub. A few people have already replaced their stock Sony sub with this one too. My question is, how do I wire it up to the stock Sony amp?
Meaning, do I simply plug + and - to one coil and the other set of wires to the respective + and -. OR should I wire it in series or parallel?
BTW, I got a 1" spacer ring for this sub and it fits perfectly. No modification to the box at all.

That thread is what made me decide to order this sub. I see that he wired his the same as factory. Was hoping to see what others did, or if this was the only way to do it. Thanks for the link though.
I'm personally going to order this.

It matches my the TS-A's I installed in my doors and it has a higher DB rating as well as lower hz range than the kicker. I would imagine the higher wattage and lower DB rating of the kicker will require a fair amount more power than the stock sub, which is why guys have to crank the bass to hear the difference after installing it.
