Default How to recenter steering wheel

Ok I installed a leveling kit and had the alignment done. Now the steering wheel is off center not buy much but its really annoying me. Can you adjust this like the older vehicles or is this computer based since it has electric steering? Really hoping i can do this myself, as i have found there is no more self pride or the attention to detail with shops nowdays. This is for a 2016 xlt 4x4.

Adjust the tie rods... toe in one side 1/8 turn and toe out the other side by 1/8 turn.

You paid for an alignment, that includes the steering wheel. Take it back to who did it.

Yeah i should take it back but i really hate playing the waiting game and since they could not do it right the first time, i feel they are incompetent and most likely wont be able to do it right at all.

You can't re-center the steering wheel without doing another alignment. The tie rod positions need to shift.

Well taking it back today at 1130 found out they honor the alignment for 6 months. Thanks for the inputs.

As much as you hate to it is probably for the best. Alignment is just one of those things you can't get spot on without the right equipment. If it is off center when you are driving it might not just be a matter of centering the wheel at all, the toe might be messed up overall.

They know you are paying attention now, hopefully they will get it right.
