Default How much is too much? Leveling Kit

Hey guys, with my new F150, i really want to make it last. Calling around, most of the dealerships are providing 2" leveling kits for longevity. Is that the max you'll go to make it last? I am really leaning towards 2.25" or 2.5", but don't want to be replacing CVs etc non stop.

Who here has experience and miles on a truck leveled out?

Imo, 2 inches is too much for a true "level" the bilstein 5100 setting 2nd from the top is 1.8ish and seems dead on. I've very satisfied with the 5100, rides like a brand new truck.

Gotcha. I can't find a shop to install the 5100s for reasonable price.

I'm more concerned with the front end wear than the truck sitting 'level' is what I meant. I am opposite of most here and would prefer to be 1/4" nose high than 1/4" rake.

A "true" level means same height front and back right? Thats what level means. I went all the way up with my 5100's and that is level. If you have any kind of rake, that is not level to me. But I guess every truck is different on what setting to use.

Looks nose high to me... Did you measure your wheel wells to the ground? I have zero rake on mine at the 3rd setting, I'm also a gen older than yours though.

My Fox leveling coilovers that are set 2" out of the box has me about 3/4" lower in front than rear. 2.5" in front will give you leveled front to back on most of these trucks. Btw, my CV angles still look acceptable with 2" lift upfront.

I have a 1.5" motofab level up front, front end sits approx .5" lower than the rear.

Something to consider is the fact that the hoods of these trucks sit higher than the top of the truck bed, so for me at least a little rake looks better than having the trucks sit perfectly even. If you have a 2" level it's almost always (depending on angle of photo) going to look nose high in person or straight on from the side.

It's actually about 1/2" higher in back. I get just about 40" in the back and 39 1/2" in front. That's to the center of the wheel well.

If you have a level and the CV's go out some dealers will not cover them under warranty. You should check with your dealer and ask them their policy.
