How to get locks to auto lock
Hey guys, The odd time I have forgotten to lock my truck and some idiot comes by and tries car doors to see if they are unlocked and if they are takes what he cans.
Like I said, the odd time I forget to lock my truck. Has anyone figured out, or is it possible, to get the locks to lock automatically if you forget and/or get the alarm to auto set? I know there is a setting in the advance settings but this is not what I am referring to.
I use to have an old alarm years ago that would automatically lock the doors if I forgot.
Anything in ForScan that can be adjusted to do this?

Don't know anything about autolock, but in Forscan you can program auto relock. Whereas if you hit unlock with your fob and don't open the door within 45 seconds it will relock.

No, you cannot automatically lock your doors.

Someone needs to figure this out. If you can have your locks autolock when you unlock with the key FOB, then somehow it should be able to autolock after a set time once the ignition is turned off.

Been locking my vehicles since I started driving. Used to lock them in my garage when my kids were younger, most people don't do that. I watched a neighbor's kid playing with the gearshift and got it out of Park and nearly rolled over his little brother had I not yelled very loudly. I can't say that I've ever forgotten to lock my vehicle.
If it did it automatically, you'd get a bunch of people complaining that it did.

I have my mirrors set to fold in if truck is locked.. So I can easily see if I forgot to lock the truck,, or more likely my wife went and unlocked it to get something and didn’t lock it back up..

All cars I've owned since I can remember auto-lock if you unlock the doors but don't open one. But that obviously requires that you locked them first . Never heard that a car can lock doors automatically. And yes, I'd be one that wouldn't like it. Ha ha. But as long as there was the option to enable or disable, I wouldn't care. What I also did was to fold mirrors when locked, so I can easily tell if truck is locked or not. I rarely lock it, to be honest. I also wish the running boards would stay out until you turn ignition on again, rather than the incessant deploy and retract. But nothing is perfect, so we have to live with little things that we don't like . Good luck.

My wife’s 2007 Focus auto locks,,, if you leave the car running and get out and shut the door you are now locked out. I think it even does this if turned off but leave the key in the ignition.. Can’t tell you how many times I have had to go into the house to get spare key to unlock the car if I’m working on it. Usually in the winter I’ll go start it up before cleaning the snow off it only to find the doors locked when trying to get in to move it.. When I take it to put gas in it for her l have gotten in the habit of rolling the drivers window down before getting out.
note to self,, always get a vehicle with a keypad... and now push button start..
