Not sure where you guys are using an a/z plan pin # but when I had a family member working for Ford they required documents that proved I was an immediate family member to get his discount

No one said they were using an A plan pin. When people ask me about pricing, I always look up invoice, x-plan, a-plan prices. I did the same when I bought. The idea here is that knowing what a Ford employee or retiree (or Dealer employee +100) is paying is good to know and usually (but not always) a goo spot to shoot for.

People who think the dealer is losing money on a sale at the a-plan price aren't really understanding all the ways the dealer makes money. Ford offers dealers incentives that aren't tied to a single vehicle. So while the dealer may be "losing" money on a particular sale, they end up making money due to meeting threshold requirements. In addition, Ford sometimes uses "Volume Growth Bonus Program" to add additional incentive, also known as a "Stair-step" agreement which give additional per-vehicle bonuses which ratchet up as specific volume levels are met.

Finally, dealers love A-plan and X-plan purchasers as they get additional reimbursement from Ford. I wish I knew the number....in fact I DID used to know but for the life of me I can't remember.
