That depends on the amp. If your amp has speaker level inputs then you should be able to use the OEM signal wires with no converter.

There is a lot more to it... I added an amp with the harness in the back. The voltage that comes out of the harness is really low, even at full volume. That being said, you technically don't need a LOC; depending on the amp you are going to use. I used a Clarion XC2110, the line level (RCA) sensitivity is 200mv to 8V, while the speaker level sensitivity is 600mv to 20V. If I remember correctly with a 50Mhz test tune the voltage from the connector was well under 8V, closer to 3V. I could have spliced an RCA cable and went directly to it, but my amp had speaker level inputs, so I used them anyway. The fact of the matter is whichever way you go, when you adjust your gain, you can only raise it so high before the signal clips.

Another note; to use the connector in the back you need to enable it with Forscan. (Search the Forum for this info)

You can also add the parrot harness that ties in to your ACM and pick up the speakers there, if you go this route the speaker voltage it a lot higher, and you will definitely need a LOC if your amp doesn't have speaker level inputs. (Search the forum for the Parrot part number, I don't remember it off hand)
