Default How to add Climate to MyFord Touch on XLT also heated seats icons

Thanks to flsdiver on another forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...6&postcount=69

Changed the As Built Data for the APIM.

I used a program called Forscan to change said data. http://forscan.org/download.html You need to sign up for the forum and request an extended licence to be able to change the APIM data.

Then I used an OBDLink MX to connect to the the truck. Forscan has a list of compatible hardware. You need a piece of hardware that is able to write to both the HS-CAN and MS-CAN to correctly program the APIM

To turn on the climate quadrant one value needs to change as well as the checksum (last two hex values). If the value goes up you have to add to the checksum and if the value goes down you have to subtract from the checksum.

7D0-04-01 0103 0200 00E2 with climate
7D0-04-01 0103 0201 00E3 without climate

The bold values are what changed. Some of the other values might be different for your set up but the bold values are what you care about.

To add the heated seat buttons.
7D0-01-01 2AAA 0006 00B3 blank
7D0-01-01 2AAA 0006 03B6 heated seat icons

To add the a/c and heated seat buttons.
7D0-01-01 2AAA 0006 00B3 blank
7D0-01-01 2AAA 0006 02B5 heated seat icons

Also some of the voice commands work too.

Have you looked into removing the heated steering wheel icon? Do you know by any chance which bit it is in the 7D0-04-01 line and whats the checksum?

Thanks

Can you post a picture of your full climate control screen?

Sorry I had the wrong section for the heated seats. It's 7D0-01-01 I fixed in first post.
No I have not. I would have to compare different vehicles as built data. I think it might be the 2 in the last section first hex that needs to be 0 then subtract 2 for the last value for the checksum.

So if one was to find a heated Steering wheel from a platinum what values would you change?
