Default Hot engine issues.

I have a 2017 f150 Eco Boost. 3.5L Quad Cab, 4wd. 10 speed. 14,000 miles. Lately I have noticed that the digital temperature gauge comes on at the top of slight inclines with no weight in it. It usually comes on at 230 degrees at the top of the incline after i let off the gas.
Typically the truck is in 8th, 9th, or 10th gear with about 4-5lbs boost. This can be for 20-30 seconds of hill then as I let off, 230-235 degrees. The digital numbers go away quickly once going level or downhill. Two ford dealers and Ford says this is normal. I don't buy it. The truck is empty.
Anyone else had this? Help please.

I have had the truck for 10 months. Thought it was a little early to clean the radiator. Might be worth it though.

I would try washing it out. Probably something else that's causing your issue but it's worth a try.

Have you used the block heater?

SSM 46150 - 2015-2017 F-150 - Lack Of Heat - Block Heater Operation

Some 2015-2017 F-150 vehicles may exhibit poor heater performance caused by restricted heater cores. Extensive use of the block heater may increase cooling system deposits which contribute to heater core restrictions. It is recommended to plug in the block heater for 1 – 2 hours before starting engine when ambient temperatures are -15 degrees C (0 degrees F) or lower.

Just a thought, I could see this having an effect and possibly causing overheating issues as well.
