Default Hood open sensor

2018 5.0 Lariat. I don't see any wires or sensors, but the truck knows when the hood is open. Where be the sensor?

I believe it is in the latch itself.

I ended up installing a plunger-style switch to get a hood-open status for under--that lighting. I knew the switch was in the latch, but I didn't bother doing anything with it.

I'm curious what you're up to...

what was the issue here?
I am having same issues. I have to slam the hood, and it dlooks want convince me it’s locked.
I tried to adjust the latch up, but it was already at the top.
Is it dirty? Stuck? the hood release seems... like it too easy which makes me think something is not right.
