I am considering installing the Ford hood deflector. Seeking advice on 2 questions:
1) There are several pieces to stick to the hood. Any risk of paint damage if I decide I don't like the deflector and remove it?
2) Which tabs do I pull out? The ones on the outside, or 2nd to the outside? Not quite clear in the lovely instructions Ford provided. In my pic, the one to the left is the outside one. (I hope my question makes sense)

I don't know about the paint damage if you decide you don't like it. If you take it off soon after it shouldn't cause any problems. The longer it stays on the longer it bonds. A blow dryer should soften it up enough to peel away.
I'd remove whichever pins leave it centered on the hood. If you take out the outside pin and install it and it's off center, use the one next to it. Trial and error.
Can you put the sticky part facing the deflector instead of on the paint? Just a thought.
No cause then it will stick on to the clamps and be difficult to slide the clamps on. If you use lube on the sheets to slide it into the clamp then the sheet will neither stick to clamp nor hood.

years ago I installed one on an explorer and the sticky part was supposed to be stuck to the paint. It was a spacer to keep the deflector from bending backwards. So I installed the rubber spacer on the deflector instead on the hood. Good luck.
