I need to put a bunch of gravel in a part of my yard I am driving the truck across but I don't have the RoK Block or the bed liner in yet, only had the truck a couple of days, so like Tuesday? Until then just work with my rationalizations o.k.? I plan on employing my kids too, but I am thinking they will clean the truck though, the downside to ending up with a storm trooper is the cleaning. Fortunately my kids have just gotten old enough they can do it.

I hand wash mine most of the time, but that’s a personal thing. I like to look at each and every panel every few weeks and pull bugs/tar/etc off with wet microfiber, but I also spend a ton of time on the highway. I have it professionally detailed and waxed every 3 months.

hand wash, you can see the damage from rocks etc and the pride you get from washing your own truck is priceless

Here in Arizona the water is hard and the humidity low. Hose and bucket washes are few and far between because one can’t dry the car fast enough to prevent mineral spots everywhere. So rinseless car washes are the answer. And rinseless car wash products are getting really good. Since 2005 I’ve used products like Wet Paint Glaze, Duragloss and Griots rinseless and just recently I tried Turtle Wax rinsefree wash and wax. All do a great job.

So, I guess I split the difference, I don’t do drive throughs and I don’t normally do hose and bucket. For me rinseless rocks!

It's always works good for me even in the winter when it's all covered with salt, for $16.00 I get the Ultimate Wash and that also washes the undercarriage!!

Ceramic coating is a must if you are going to subject a $50k truck to regular trips thru a commercial car/truck wash.

I've run every vehicle I've ever owned through them for over 25 years. And they've always ended up on the high side of resale value. A few swirl marks and surface scratches, sure, but most of them buff out come selling time. My time is worth more than any damage they have ever caused.

5 months out of the year up here in North Dakota washing your truck yourself isn't really an option. It is what it is.

Black owner here. First year or so, I swore by touchless and hand washes. Then the wash next to the daycare I drop the kid off at started offering 30 unlimited washes. I go multiple times a week when time allows. I had swirls hand washing and using touchless. Touchless washes where worthless leaving a film that needed contact to remove

fabulous for winter in the heart of MN. Always told myself I could justify buying a PC able doing my own polish/wax now
