Maybe they just put it on for the picture so they can sell it to customers? Or maybe they have a bigger IC? The reason that the front license plate is offset on the ecoboosts and not the 5.0 is so that air flow can reach the intercooler through the front bumper. A winch would block that, unless the intercooler was relocated to the upper grill area or increased in size to absorb more airflow.

 

I haven't noticed a offset plate on the 15's

 

My plate is not offset on my 2015 Ecoboost.

 

That's a good looking bumper, no doubt! One issue I want to avoid is disabling front camera and Adaptive Cruise. I think any external bumper may interfere with one or both of those two options.

 

Anything yet on hidden winch's yet?

Anybody find a mount yet? Why won't the rough country earlier model winch mount work on our 2015's? I know the first answer is "because we don't have a whole there" but that's nothing a sawsall or a new bottom shroud can't fix... are all the mounting holes the same between the 14's and the 15's?

I'm fine cutting a whole out in mine

Hey FP, thanks for the link! Have you used this mount? I'm curious because the caidid site says it fits the 15-16 model. But if you look at the ICI site, they say they don't have one that fits. So I'm wondering if the info is accurate?

 

No, I have not used this mount. I think I have decided to go with the Warn Ascent front bumper on mine. Apparently, it allows sufficient air flow underneath the winch.
