Default Help Upgrading To A Sync 3

So I have been searching for the past year on how I can upgrade my 4” sync radio to an 8” Sync 3 with CarPlay and Navi in my 2015 F150 XLT. I’ve read so may forums and looked at so many kits to see what I need to actually do the job. Unfortunately I can’t just go out and buy a $1500 complete kit. I have a wife and kids I need to feed and put through school. But I can buy components to building a kit. I have looked and I have saved multiple threads about the upgrade I still feel I can’t figure out what components I need for the swap. I want to make sure I’m getting the right stuff so is there a list of part numbers for the components I need to do this right? I’ve also seen on eBay places that will preprogrammed a APIM module but what module and screen do I need? Stuff like that. I would appreciate any help any of you can give me to make sure I get the right parts.

The $1500 kits are $1500 because they’ve done the legwork and research so you don’t have to. That being said, there’s no less than 5 threads on this forum that outline everything needed to do the swap. This one came up after I did a 15 second search that is about as close as you’ll get without someone doing the whole thing for you:

Providing a single parts list is all but impossible due to hundreds of part numbers across several Ford vehicles that can work for this swap.

If you can’t piece together a list from those threads, there are a few forum members that sell components as a side gig that would probably help you compile a parts list and sell you what they offer. Check the for sale section for some vendors.

Thanks. I have that thread already saved. I saw Watson Tech selling stuff too. I didn’t realize he had a website to purchase stuff from. If that’s the case I might just buy what I need from him. Thanks again.
