Default Help Removing Grille

I will be removing my grille later this week. I am trying to gather some info on the headlight trim pieces that have to come off in order to get to the grille bolts.

I know this is not a difficult process, but I have the OEM fender flares as well as a clear bra, so I'm trying to keep the prying and jostling to a minimum.

My main question is, can I get to the grille bolts easily enough without removing the headlight trim completely? I am thinking the clips on the inner side of the trim may release allowing just enough access to the one bolt for the grille, that way I don't have to mess with prying the flare loose to remove the trim completely.

Thanks for any help.

I replaced my grille about a month ago. It took me a couple of hours working very slowly. I'm not comfortable pulling off panels and I wanted to make sure I didn't damage anything. I didn't.

I used these two videos as my guide. Neither one shows every single step of the process, but if you watch both then I think you'll see everything you need. I don't have a clear bra like you, so I don't know about that.

Good luck!

Thanks. Both of these videos (same truck) show removal of the trim piece without the OEM flares, which is much simpler. The videos I have seen on trucks with the flares, the guys are getting in between the flare and the fender with a plastic trim removal tool and prying the flare loose, which is what I am trying to avoid.

I found another thread talking about removal of the grille without taking the trim piece all the way off, so I am pretty sure it's possible. Again, thank you for the tips!

Yes, you can pop that trim piece off next to the grill, leaving it attached at the wheel well. You can pull it aside and get to the bolts. I've done it.

Yes, that would be the best option as carrierj noted. I just removed my grill and just pulled them out of the way a bit to get to the one screw at the bottom. I would recommend using an extension if using drill driver. it is a very straight forward process.
