I removed and replaced my Sync 2 with a Sync 3 unit on my 2015. I want to update the software to v3.0 and have tried a few vins but all of them are from naviagation units and that file will not update.

i need to locate a vin from a unit that did not have navigation. Anyone have the update file or a vin I can use to download the update file?

 

Don't use a VIN from somebody else's vehicle. If you do that Ford's database will think that truck has had the update added. The actual owner will get the notice that their software has no updates available if they try to download the update when it actually has not been updated.

That isn’t accurate. If you download the file but do not go to step 4 and notify ford of 5e update you can download multiple times and it does not effect the owner. I downloaded a friends update and it still showed he needed it. Problem was he had nav.

Thanks stang and I got the mem-err03 a s has to do a two step update but I am now on v3.0
