Need some help please i have a 2015 F150 and just picked up a used 2015 bed extender off ebay. It did not come with any instructions and when i found one it was for the 09-12model. the one i got is a Instruction said SKL3J-99286A40-AA

I trying to find out how it install the the bed. The unit came with a torx -50 bolts and washer and nut. Is this correct? on the older model i see they tap in a fitting into the frame of the truck and the torx bolt screws. I do not think this is correct.

After visiting the dealership and the tech and i removed a factory bed extender to determine how it was installed on a 15 it the same as a 09-14 . there is a difference in the bushing more plastic like. this is for the quick release pin and the torx bolt just threads into the bed frame. Best to use an impact to get this done. Just wondering why Ford does not tap these out before leaving the factory

 

Ok finally got it right the installation is the same as 2011-2014 same parts for mounting but the bed extender is different the above video is correct for a 15 to install it

 

I didn't bother keeping my bed extender from my 2013 because I assumed it wouldn't fit, stupid me!

So, you’re saying that the 2009-2014 bed extender (sk9l3j-99286a40-aa) is a direct fit in a 2015? Are any modifications necessary?
