Default Help identifying this part/thing

So I’ve seen this tube, it runs under the brake master/booster and is just chilling there. I see it connects further down by the frame rail but didn’t trace it much further.

it’s terminated at the top here with some sort of check valve type thing. Any help would be appreciated

transmission dipstick ? before they decided to make it 1/2 " long

It is supposed to be held in place on the end of the master cylinder mounting stud. I removed the electrical connector for the brake fluid level switch so it was easier to photograph. It just pushes on it the end of the stud.
