Default HELP, how to turn off the stupid ignition chimes

Please someone explain to me how I can disable those annoying *** chime every time I put my key in the ignition. Why is this even a feature, seriously, who enjoys those chimes, it drives me insane. Thank you so much in advance.

Cool

My wife wants to turn the radio off when we kill the truck and not have it stay on until you open the door.

I have no idea why any company thought that would be a good idea but it is what it is.

It is a "feature" that is designed to keep you from leaving your keys in the ignition when you get out of the truck. The truck doesn't know if you are getting IN or getting OUT, so it always chimes if the door is open with the keys in the ignition.

The solution is FORScan. Look at the stickies at the top of this forum.(Or, always close your door before inserting your keys. )

I'd be happy with a single ding. My kids think we are going to a carnival each time I get in my truck. Oh and the seatbelt chime drives me insane. It's the one where if you have the seatbelt unclicked before hitting the start, you get the doo bee too, doo bee doo. I agree with you 100%.

... was hoping that the answer might be something about unplugging a connector somewhere - It especially annoys me, for example, when I am backing up a trailer and I hop out for a second to check how close I am to something behind... etc. If I do lock the keys in the truck, I have the door number pad to open it back up.

Plug in the seat belt and close the door before putting the key in, no more ding.

My truck with PBS, if I don't connect the seat belt first, the thing dings and tells my Garmin to go home, and that is NOT a joke, it WILL program the Garmin to go home!

Yeah, it's not a door thing it's a seatbelt thing. You have to put your seatbelt on before you put the keys in, even if it's been auto started. It's so stupid.

I went to the junkyard and cut a seatbelt clicker off of a wreck and now I never have a ding for any reason.
