Default Help! Grinding While Braking!

Hello all and thank you in advance for reading. I have a 16’ Supercrew that has had an intermittent problem for about two years now. A grinding sound while braking. The sound is not constant and almost sounds like a bad spot on a rotor (which I had replaced). The sound started after I hit a large pothole on the highway. The sound comes and goes without any apparent cause. I’ve had a buddy suggest it could be the 4WD hub. Have any of you experienced this? Ford tried and could not find or fix the problem.

Check the splash cover on the back side of the disc to make sure it was not bent when you hit the pothole.

Hi there – send a message to us with your VIN and approximate mileage, along with some more details about your situation. I’ll look into this for you. Thanks!

Only when you brake ? Otherwise zero noise ?

I second the cover behind the rotor... I've had that exact issue.
