If it's a defect, get it replaced. These are too much money to be Jimmie riggin it.

Uh I don't think so. Let it sit until they replace it.

Put this down onto the post first (after the weld dries)

then a lock washer. Then, see if you can tighten the nut down the best you can. You bought these used, from a friend, right? The warranty is probably expired, unless S3Ms can verify date of original purchase

Just trying to think outside the box. I agree, it should be fixed right, but, he said he bought it from a friend, and, he didn't want to take it off again.
Not to mention, he's already driving it with only 2 bolts attached now. If it's out of warranty, he'd have to pay for shipping and to have it fixed. Or, he could take it off, and see if a nearby machine shop could fix it. Again, this is assuming it's out of warranty. I think you only get a year.

Marmam, I'm inclined to agree with these guys, even though they're busting my chops pretty good (it's cool) Hopefully S3M can help you get straight. How much did you pay for these? At any rate, you're definitely going to have to take the strut back off. (That sucks) But, as others here have said, better to be safe than sorry.
(You have no idea how hard it is for me to agree with these guys right now)
