Default Help with back-up camera!!!!!!!

This might be long but I am going to give you guys as much info as I can. To start, the truck is a 2015 Lariat. About 2 weeks ago, I started the truck up and a wrench light came on and said “see owners manual”. I took the truck to the local auto parts store and had them hook a code reader up to it, it read code U1012 invalid internal control module, monitoring data received from anti-lock brake system control module. I had them clear the code and all was good for about a week. Then the wrench light popped back up and said see manual. I had some recall work that needed done so I scheduled an appointment at my local Ford dealer. Dropped the truck off to them the night before and got a call the next morning. They said that they pulled some codes but that none of the codes they got would cause the wrench light to come on and that they were very random codes. They went on to say that they had to jump my truck and that the battery was dead. Since it was there I told them to replace the battery and I would be on my way to pick it up. Well, I got there and they said they had some bad news. They said they replaced the battery and when they started the truck it started throwing a bunch of lights on the dash. Said the tech couldn’t figure it out and that they needed to get the shop foreman involved. Asked if I would leave the truck overnight, which I did. They called later the next day and said that the shops foreman couldn’t figure it out and that they had to get Ford tech support involved. They called back, about 2 hours later, and said that the backup camera was causing the issues. They said the connection was corroded and that the camera needed replaced and a new connector needed spliced in. They asked if I wanted the camera replaced and a new connector installed at the cost of $900, or if I just wanted it unplugged. I told them to unplug the camera. I knew replacing the camera couldn’t be that difficult of a job. Picked the truck up and went out to start it and nothing, wouldn’t even crank. Went back inside and advised them of this and they walked out and it started right up. The shop foreman drove the truck around to the service area and came back about 30 minutes later. He stated that the tech did not do what was asked of him and just disconnected the camera, I didn’t ask any questions. Drove the truck home and it was fine, minus the screen turning black and saying to contact the dealer, every time I put it in reverse. I didn’t think I used my back up camera all that much but I learned quickly that I do. So, I purchased a new camera and the plug end splice kit and went to work. As I was pulling the old camera out and the plug, I didn’t notice any corrosion at all! But, since I had the parts I went ahead and replaced them. Started the truck and put it in reverse and the screen is black and still says camera unavailable, contact dealer. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this or anything I should look at? Thanks for any help!

No offense, but I think you’ll be more likely to find someone to help if you can consolidate that wall of text down to a couple sentences. Year/model/trim, basic issue, code(s). Hope you get it figured out easy

If you replaced the camera (hopefully a genuine Ford camera), you probably need to do the LIN Module initialization in Forscan or at the dealer.
