Default Help!

So, this happened this morning. Head out this morning and everything was fine. I got to a light and when I go to press the gas I heard something go POP! And then (see video).... lost power. I barely made it back home with the truck limping.

i quickly connected OBD to find problem. I’m getting a powertrain power loss.

The following is information on the DTC. Since you heard a "pop" before the engine went into limp mode, it would check under the hood for damage such as a detached hose. My guess is that whatever made the pop sound damaged some wiring or other sensor. There should be other DTCs to help with this diagnosis.

I doubt it is a BCM failure as it is unlikely such a failure would create a "pop"

U0422 – Invalid Data Received From Body Control Module

Description:

This DTC is the result of a network error and is set when a receiving device detects a discrepancy in the information it receives from the Body Control Module (BCM) causing its integrity to be questioned. CEL will be illuminated by this DTC and limp mode may be initiated.

Possible Causes:

  • Faulty Body Control Module (BCM)
  • Body Control Module harness is open or shorted
  • Body Control Module circuit poor electrical connection

Diagnostic Aids:

Visually inspect BCM wiring harness and connectors for damage. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector's pins.

Check for other PCM DTCs or PCM related symptoms. Diagnose all other PCM DTCs or PCM related symptoms first.

Much appreciated. I’m waiting on my mechanic to come look at it.
