Default Headlight Functions and Operation

Had some questions about my headlights. I dont know if they are working correctly. Dealership researched it for a little bit but didn't have an answer.
Background: 2015 Lariat, Stock headlights. aftermarket led foglights (which shouldnt matter). No wrecks. Both headlights do this.
In short, it appears the low beams are on all the time. The cluster does not show the little green light that says the low beams are on unless its dark and then the low beams come on with the fogs and the amber "C" lights.

So i turn the truck on, lamp switch is in automatic. no lights are on. As soon as i shift out of park (specifically into drive) the low beams (top light) comes on. shift back into park and the light goes out. Again, at no time does the green cluster light come on that says the low beams are on.

Now if it is dark and in auto the low beams, "C" amber and fog lights come on. So do the green cluster lights.

If i shift the light controller to off, everything is off. Parking Lights, just the Amber "C" lights. Manual, the low beams, amber "C", and fogs. Auto, when dark, is the same as manual.

TL;DR - Low beams are on during day while light switch is in auto and out of park. No green light in cluster.

What lights, if any should be on during the day in auto? Which lights are the Daytime Running Lights?

From what you are describing it sounds like normal operation of the DRL's (Daytime Running Lights). When you shift to park they go off. Hope this helps. You can disable the DRL's if you want in the cluster.

Correct. When the DRLs are on it should be just the low beams without any additional marker lights on. Everything sounds normal.

So you're saying the low beams are DRL? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Shouldn't DRL be the LED C amber light or something? Having headlights on all the time doesn't really seem like an auxiliary DRL.

Yes.
It sounds right to me. Go to Ford.com and check out the owners manual for your truck. Use the search term DRL.
Many vehicles use their low beams at reduced power as DRLs.
It sounds like your lights are workin perfectly.
