Haven't found anything on P1016, so I thought I'd cover it as i go through it
Hi All,
As the title said. I have found very little information on P1016. The documentation I found basically mentioned draining any liquids from the hoses and replacing the solenoid.
Well, The dealer has replaced the wastegate solenoid and the check engine light came right back on. The dealership has taken pretty good care of me, first time i got a rental car from enterprise. When the check engine light came back on (as i was leaving the dealership) they literally just gave me a new 2018 exact version of my truck to drive until its fixed. Will update this thread with any additional information.

2015 2.7l f150 xlt 4x4 with 28938 miles.
Bought used, next day engine light came. Took it to dealer p1016 wastegate pressure. They replaced the solenoid. They put 40 miles on my truck testing it so i was happy about that. Then I turned it over on the way out of the dealership and check engine light comes back on. On a side note was averaging 23 mpg which was awesome for atlanta traffic and while i'm not sure the wastegate was working the turbos were.

I had that code on my 2015 f150 at around the same miles as you. Dealership will check the lines around the turbos and inter cooler, probably change a sensor and clean everything. I don't know if it is related but about 3 weeks after this my truck needed the throttle body replaced.

Is there any further updates on this post? My truck is throwing code P1016 (WASTEGATE CONTROL PRESSURE HIGHER THAN EXPECTED) and has low boost pressure.
Stock 2015 F150 2.7L ECOBoost with 110k miles
Symptoms:
Check engine light code, P1016.
Loss of power on acceleration and at higher RPMs.
What I've done:
Checked hoses going to wastegate solenoid for blockage.
Checked wiring and fuses to solenoid.
Replaced Wastegate Solenoid.
Checked vacuum pressure at intake (good at 16 Hg).
Any other suggestions would be appreciated?
Side note: about 2 weeks after the check engine light came on for this I had to replace the fuel pump that disabled the truck.

Okay for me it ended up being vacuum pump. Long story short i had bought the truck used and it looks like the guy never changed the oil OR there is something with the motors that leads to sludge. Also keep in mind for me the computer didn't trip until it was under load and boosting. I had the place i bought it take it back and i bought one somewhere else and went with v8. Update: and sorry for never coming back and filling this out. I was so mad when it happened it was hard to keep my cool and forgot about this post. That part shouldn't look like that EVER much less at that mileage.

I experienced the same code on my truck and was experiencing a loss in power. I changed the vacuum pump and a solenoid out and still the same issue. I replaced the vacuum hose assembly FL3Z9S468B that feeds both wastegates and to my surprise it fixed it. I haven’t had an issue in a year. It’s not a cheap part but it was worth every penny since it fixed it. Hope this helps.
