Has anyone had to replace a 2.7 outside of warranty yet.

I was just curious about what it might cost to do so. I am at the point of either trading my truck in for a new one or keep it past the warranty and just trying to put some numbers to it.

very few 2.7 failures. Still the newest but it seems like its far lower than 3,5 and 5.0 and those have very low failure rates. Cant recall one person having serious engine issues after warranty up.

Nice. I have not heard of many issues at all the the 2.7 outside of the TSB for a defective manufacturing run (April to October 2016 I belive).
I know one member on here has over 100k on his and had to replace the torque converter (if I recall correctly), however, he tows heavy with it daily.
Time will tell but early indications seem positive. Good luck with whichever route you decide to go.

yea im pretty excited to see the longevity of these motors. Im at 10k with a June 16 build (5 months or so of ownership) and only oil burned so far has been what is normally lost in a turbo motor, so hopefully im one of the fortunate lucky ones that got a good build one. I beat on this truck like your granny did your *** with a willow switch and it keeps on rolling.

I think you would have to replace a turbo before en entire engine. The 2.7L is built to handle some major forces. But maybe at 150-200k you might need a new turbo or two.

exact reason why i bought the truck. As soon as I heard it was a CG block and saw the torture test of it running for 350+ hours consecutively at high rpm without issue I was sold
