Default Hard shift (not 5-4 downshift)

So this evening I started my truck, put it in drive, released the parking break and then rolled down the hill I was parked on. After about 300 feet later, riding the brake to maintain about 20mph, my truck jolted and the indicator said it went into 5th. As I was coming to a stop 50 or so feet later it jolted again as it slammed into 3rd. Once stopped, pushing the up and down buttons would result in the 3 indicator flashing. As I started moving again and gave it gas, it was lugging the engine confirming it was in 3rd. Shorty after pressing the gas it slammed once more into 1st, and then was normal. This is the second time I had experienced this, the last time was a little over a month ago I think.

I'm split between not bothering with telling the dealer, since it's an intermittent issue, and asking them to update the programming like the 5-4 downshift TSB just for kicks.

Any ideas or anyone else experienced this? I've been reading the forums for while and haven't seen anything like this.

Tell the dealer about it anyway. They may go ahead and update the software, if nothing else.

The re-flash I had for the 5 to 4 downshift also corrected and smoothed out some other shifts.

For instance, when cold, I had a big jump and lunge between 1 and 2. Now fixed with the new flash.

Bringing this one back. I originally brought this up to the dealer, and they re-flashed the transmission. It may have helped a little, but I still had the issue described a few times since then, always in the same place.

Today however, I had a similar issue, see some video here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/okumhe1020...39.58.mov?dl=0

When stopped, I would shift out of park, and the truck would indicate it was shifting into 5th, and then 3rd. Shifting into reverse or park did not change the behavior. Not shown, but selecting manual mode would not allow me to shift up or down. Turning the truck off, and on again, fixed the issue.

Anyone ever seen something similar with their truck?
